Spring wardrobe starting to emerge.

As usual I've been getting a little carried away with my busy university life and have some what neglected my blog.

Anyway, as it's finally heading into the spring months I thought I would share a few of my current favourite outfits I've been wearing and look forward to wearing a bit more as the warmer months approach.

As soon as I saw this bargain dress in Primark I instantly fell in love. I am a massive fan of daisy and this spring they seem even bigger than last year. I also am always wearing blue colours and it has a collar so overall it was just fab. I wore this with some black tights and boots however as it gets warmer it will look just as sweet with a jean jacket and some sandals.

This is not the best photo of my outfit, but I also have another absolutely lovely dress from Primark. Lately I seem to be finding some lovely items in their, especially when it comes to the new spring clothing. This is a sweet and floaty sort of dress with some pinky flowers on and it actually looks quite smart and great with a pinky lipstick to match.

I also fell in love with this cute little flared gingham skirt from Urban outffiters last week. Again here I have added some tights to keep it a bit warmer for now but I think this would look just as nice without tights.

To add a bit more colour into my wardrobe I bought this yellowy/green jumper from topshop. At first I thought it was a bit too bright however it ended up look quite smart with a shirt and collar underneath and a necklace on top.

Finally another primark find was this sweet little spring style jumper with lips on. I got it around valentines day which was very suited. However, it reminded me of a fearne cotton sort of style.

It just looks nice and simple tucked into some jeans and is a comfy and causal outfit for the day.

Anyway that's a few bits that I've recently purchased. I have got a few newer items in my wardrobe which I'm still waiting for a bit more sun till they come out.

WIWT

Thought I would do a quick blog post on one of my favorite apps/social networking sites at the moment. WIWT or What I Wore Today is a cute little website where people post pictures of their most worn outfits or just pictures from their day to day wardrobes.

I discovered the website a while back in summer when my Mum, who loves looking at things online, actually told me about it and I thought why not give it a go. It is very simple and there is no pressure to upload an outfit everyday just when you feel you're wearing something particularly nice, or even just something you want to share with other people. All you do is take a photo of what you are wearing and you have the option to tag brands like Topshop and Zara etc.

It is also a really great place to get fashion and style ideas and see what people are wearing all round the world. The editors of the site also pick their daily fave outfits so sometimes you get featured on the editors page which feels pretty nice. You can also star or like people's outfits to rate which styles you like best.

Here is the link to my profile if you fancy taking a look; http://wiwt.com/user/yayalicemay/

I thought I would share with you some of my outfits which I have uploaded over that last few months for people to view.

These are all taken from the phone app, which is a bit different from the online website which you can also upload and view your profile on.

I really enjoy WIWT as it's just another fun website to share styles with other people interested I fashion. I really reccomend it so let me know if you give it a try!

Love

University room, year two

Hey sweets,

So following my post from last year I thought I would do another post on my university bedroom. As I'm in my second year now, I've moved out of halls and into a pretty small and student type house. I've got quite a small room compared to my room at home however I do think it's pretty cute and cosy and I do always love decorating my room when I move in, so take a look!

We picked our rooms out of a hat so that it was fair and I was lucky and got a room on the second floor. I like it because the sun shines through which is pretty nice in the morning.

I always like my room to look really homely and cosy, especially as I spend a lot of my time in here doing work and things. I also love the vintage, shabby chic look.

I've taken a lot of things from my room last year, and as you can see from my pictures my taste is very flowery, girly and Cath Kidston like.

I've got some floral bunting from Acessorize which lines the top of my wall and gives my room a bit of colour. I'm quite lucky that all of my furniture in the room was already white, so it all goes really nicely together.
My bedding is from Ikea and was pretty cheap, again I think it just adds to my room and makes it look all cosy, similarly I have a flowery throw/blanket on the end of my bed which was from Tesco. It's pretty amazing where you can find all sorts of nice items for you room.

I've left my chest of drawers at the end of my bed just to have my candles on as it looks really sweet at night when its dark. One thing I love about being in a house is that I can actually burn candles. I just got some little vanilla tealights from ikea and found these little candle holders in a shop called Tiger which is kind of a much smaller version of Ikea, it is fab.

I've then just added a few photo frames, and my Urban Outfitters light up bunny, which all of my friends seem to hate but I love. I also have that metal looking bulldog ornament, it's actually a money box, but I just think it looks cool sat on the side there.

This has to be one of my fave things in my room. It's a vintage Mary Poppins vinyl which was passed down to me from my great great Aunty who is 98. Crazy, when I got it I just had to frame it because I think it looks super cute and I am a massive Disney fan.

I also have another vintage style bed sheet. This one I got from BHS, again I was really surprised at how nice the bedding sets were in there. I also got one of my cushions there, its a really sweet old style postcard with a bow and some birds on. My other cushions are from last year, so are mentioned in my previous post, and then of course I have Mike Wazoski.

I also got this really cheap photo frame in Tiger, it was only £5 which I thought was such a bargain.

And then my laptop sticker and case I got on Ebay, and they just add to my girly room style.

The far corner of my room I'm not actually that much of a fan. It gets really crowded as I do struggle a bit for storage space which is annoying so it is often very very messy over there.

I've put up a little pin board on the wall which I have just stuck on some postacards, pictures, cards and letters and any memories that make me smile. I love my fairy lights, in fact my room needs more, it just makes a room feel so much more warm and cosy. Literally every night I stick my lights and candles on and get into bed and feel mega snug.

My desk also gets kind of cluttered around with all my work and books and such, but I managed to find a picture where it is quite tidy.

I haven't commented too much about where everthing is from etc, because a lot of it features in my previous post so go check that out.

If you have any questions please feel free to comment. Thanks for checking out my room, I hope you like it.

Much love,

Alice May

Just a quickie xx

Just a quick one today as I'm off one for 3 weeks for Easter yay! So so excited to go home and see my lovely family and friends, and get some money from work!

Anyway haven't bought too much lately just a few bits which I will attach below as blogging from my phone!

Went for a lovely lunch with my friend in crepe affaire in Cardiff! Such lovely pancakes, I had banana and Nutella!

Okay so the little fox socks my grandma got me as a gift, from marks and spencer and I just love them as I love anything a little bit quirky and odd! I also got the standard topshop frilly socks in black, I honestly have sooo many but my black ones I managed to some how sick up into the Hoover! I know... So of course I had to get another pair!

I also thought I should get a new phone case and got this one for about £2 on eBay, I thought it was very summery almost like melted ice cream?

I got the cute little anchor pumps for primark for £8 as I thought they would be causal for when the weather is a little bit nicer and I also got the little make up bad for £2 just so I don't leave my make up all scattered in my handbag!

Also picked up the little war cuffs for £1.50 as just really liked them and they were such a bargin!!

Needed some new nail varnish and really wanted to try the gel Barry m and again I thought the colour there like bluey green was very spring and fresh and the purple looked nice too! Also needed another eyeliner and it was 3 for 2 yay!

Anyway that's about it! Hope you all have a lovely sunny Easter! I'm sure I will update you when I'm back home!

Bye

Feburary buy's

Hey cuties,

I thought as we are now waaay into March now I would give you a little update on some of my purchases throughout February, so here we go I guess!

So basically being the poor student that I am, I don't tend to spend too much per month as I really do want to save a bit of dollar for the summer!

Anyway first thing that I bought at the start of the month was this dead cute bunny night light from Urban outfitters!

So yes, that's the night light, this was only £8 which I thought was a bargain and add its like homelyness into my uni bedroom and looks so cute at night with my lights off! It's just a dull light really and its battery powered so it can go anywhere in your room, all of my flatmates hate it which makes me love it even more really (Bedroom post to follow)
I also bought this iphone 5 phone case as again, I thought this was really sweet and girly, as I love flowers and anything pretty looking, this was just £2 from ebay, although I did see it in poundland actually obviously for just £1 but I think they only have it for the iphone 4, in purple and pink!

This cute little pug cushion was such a bargin, only £4 from Primark, again I thought it was trendy little thing to add into my room and my flatmates again HATE it, which just makes me laugh! But seriously, £4 you can't go wrong can you. (Bedroom post to follow)
I'd wanted a pair of high waisted almost vintage looking shorts for quite a while and had my eye on these and just went for it in the end! These were £30 in River Island, and I think they will look fab in the summer with just a loose top tucked in! I like the fact that these shorts are a bit longer than my others and will be easily worn with anything, I also love the belt as it is similar to my Urban Outfitters cross belt and have already worn this belt on a night out with a high waisted skirt and crop top! So can't wait for it to warm up so I can actually wear these beauties!
Haha, these do make me laugh, for anyone who knows me I do LOVE Ariel from the Little Mermaid (I promise I'm not a freak) but yeh, I saw these in Topshop and just had to get them almost as a bit of a joke to myself really, they were £4 and I will probably only wear them when I'm having a bit of a slouchy chill day around the flat as they are big and very comfy!
I've just noticed that looking back, February has actually been quite an expensive month, oh dear! Anyway, this necklace I also got in Topshop, I thought it was quite cool as I had been looking for a spike sort of one for ages just to go with jumpers like this or a dress or something just to add a bit of taste to my plainer clothes, I think this might have been £12, however I am not 100% sure on that but I love it and will deffo get my wear out of it!
As my last lipstick I happened to drop on a night out and create a lovely mush, I thought that I was in desperate need of a new one! I love this almost coral red one, from the Kate Moss range of Rimmel London in Boots, This is number 110 and I think it was just £4, looks fab to add to any simple outfit or glam yourself up on a night out! I also had a gift card from my Uncle so this didn't cost me anything!
So when I went home, my lovely Mummy treated me to a make over at Benefit which was so so so fab, that I have booked another one for when I'm next home yay! I don't normally even consider Benefit purely because it is so expensive but I think I will 100% in the future! I had my make up done in a kind of sophisticated evening style as I still like my make up to be sort of natural. I loved pretty much every item but in the end settled for the fine one one blusher/lipstick cream thing, which is really cool and you can use on your lips or cheeks and just adds a bit of color and life! However it is £30 and then I just got the number one selling mascara Real which is so amazing and makes your eyelashes look great but again is £16.50. But I would say to you all check out Benefit, even if you just get a little sample of make up done it is fab!

I love all weird things and everyone always laughs at me and takes the mic really, but anyway I had to get these little Topshop cat socks for £3, they are just so funny (I don't even really like cats) but however they don't really look like cat's when you put them on which is a shame! But still CUTE!

Anyway lovlies, that is all for my purchases from last month (quite a lot I know) Hope you all enjoyed reading this, let me know if you have any questions! I will work on my bedroom post ASAP! Hugs and kisses
