Spring wardrobe starting to emerge.

As usual I've been getting a little carried away with my busy university life and have some what neglected my blog.

Anyway, as it's finally heading into the spring months I thought I would share a few of my current favourite outfits I've been wearing and look forward to wearing a bit more as the warmer months approach.

As soon as I saw this bargain dress in Primark I instantly fell in love. I am a massive fan of daisy and this spring they seem even bigger than last year. I also am always wearing blue colours and it has a collar so overall it was just fab. I wore this with some black tights and boots however as it gets warmer it will look just as sweet with a jean jacket and some sandals.

This is not the best photo of my outfit, but I also have another absolutely lovely dress from Primark. Lately I seem to be finding some lovely items in their, especially when it comes to the new spring clothing. This is a sweet and floaty sort of dress with some pinky flowers on and it actually looks quite smart and great with a pinky lipstick to match.

I also fell in love with this cute little flared gingham skirt from Urban outffiters last week. Again here I have added some tights to keep it a bit warmer for now but I think this would look just as nice without tights.

To add a bit more colour into my wardrobe I bought this yellowy/green jumper from topshop. At first I thought it was a bit too bright however it ended up look quite smart with a shirt and collar underneath and a necklace on top.

Finally another primark find was this sweet little spring style jumper with lips on. I got it around valentines day which was very suited. However, it reminded me of a fearne cotton sort of style.

It just looks nice and simple tucked into some jeans and is a comfy and causal outfit for the day.

Anyway that's a few bits that I've recently purchased. I have got a few newer items in my wardrobe which I'm still waiting for a bit more sun till they come out.

WIWT

Thought I would do a quick blog post on one of my favorite apps/social networking sites at the moment. WIWT or What I Wore Today is a cute little website where people post pictures of their most worn outfits or just pictures from their day to day wardrobes.

I discovered the website a while back in summer when my Mum, who loves looking at things online, actually told me about it and I thought why not give it a go. It is very simple and there is no pressure to upload an outfit everyday just when you feel you're wearing something particularly nice, or even just something you want to share with other people. All you do is take a photo of what you are wearing and you have the option to tag brands like Topshop and Zara etc.

It is also a really great place to get fashion and style ideas and see what people are wearing all round the world. The editors of the site also pick their daily fave outfits so sometimes you get featured on the editors page which feels pretty nice. You can also star or like people's outfits to rate which styles you like best.

Here is the link to my profile if you fancy taking a look; http://wiwt.com/user/yayalicemay/

I thought I would share with you some of my outfits which I have uploaded over that last few months for people to view.

These are all taken from the phone app, which is a bit different from the online website which you can also upload and view your profile on.

I really enjoy WIWT as it's just another fun website to share styles with other people interested I fashion. I really reccomend it so let me know if you give it a try!

Bits and bobs I'm absolutely loving

Hey lovelies,

So although my New Years resolution was to made sure I blogged more I have to say I have been so so busy with coming back to uni and having exams that I have had no time to blog...

However, I am back and now free for a while so I'm thinking up some new posts for you all.

For now, I thought I would just show you a few things that I am absolutely loving at the moment.

Firstly, are these two Body shop products, the strawberry shower gel and the strawberry body polish. I love body shop products as they smell so lovely and fresh and the strawberry is perfect for the spring and summer months which will soon be here.

This is definitely something I am loving at the moment. My new aqua blue laptop case. This case is from amazon and also comes with a cute rubber key set which turns your keys blue too, which I think makes my mac look even more pretty. The Alice in Wonderland sticker I actually stuck onto the case myself but that is also from amazon and I think it just adds a nice quirky and girly touch to the laptop.

I am a massive massive fab of all of Rob Ryan's beautiful stencil art work. So I think this calendar will be a favourite all year round for me. Each month has a sweet stencil style picture with a little message.

I'm always keen to make me room look as pretty, girly and vintage as possible. So therefore I am so pleased how lovely these vintage style roses look when I folded them round my mirror. Very shabby chic!

Something else I really enjoyed was these selections of chocolates from hotel chocolate. They have a mixture of flavours strawberry cheesecake, chocolate truffle, dizzy praline and rocky road. And the mixture was just perfect what more would you want from a selection really. I honstely don't know.

Finally, I am also the biggest fan of candles, therefore these little tea lights have got to be the sweetest thing. They also smell so fresh and girly, yum.

So that's most of the things/bits and bobs I'm really into at the moment. I would love to see what you are all really liking as well!!

Hope you enjoyed reading,

Festive trip to Bristol

Hey guys,

So a couple of weekends ago me and my boyfriend took a little trip to Bristol for a visit.

We just stayed in a little premier inn, which I actually loved because it was cheap, and right in the middle of the town which was perfect really.

I chose to wear my little denim dress which I love, from primark, teamed with my tartan scarf also a primark bargain for £5. Then I studded topshop necklace, tights and boots. I also straightened my hair which is kind of rare for me as I prefer my hair naturally wavy and with a bit more volume.

We grabbed some lunch at Bella Italia and just looked around the shops and such. I love going to visit different places just to have a look around at all the different shops. Bristol is pretty good for shopping too. We mainly stayed in Cabot Circus where they have most of the high street shops. We managed to also meet my friend and I had a delicious Christmas costa, a white hot chocolate which was lovely and we also grabbed a festive Krispy Kreme.

We then checked into our hotel, here is a picture of our Christmas jumpers we got ready for the holidays. EXCITING!!! The Christmas pudding one actually plays a musical tune, again these were both from primark which is absolutely massive in Bristol!!

In the evening we went to the Bristol student union to watch Crystal Fighters who we both love and they were amazing. Although a bit weird as one of them did have his top off.
If you haven't listened to them before I really recommend you to go check them out. They play pretty chilled songs but at the same time they make you want to get up and dance.

We then went back to the lovely and festive decorated premier inn, couldn't resist a picture by the tree!!!

Next day we got up (not so early) and strolled into town for some lunch/late late breakfast. We found a little cafe and had some baguettes.
We then did the usual stroll through the town etc and took a look at the Christmas market. German markets always make me feel so warm and Christmassy as they look so cute.

Later on we went to the cinema where we saw Saving Mr Banks, although we were the youngest in the cinema by miles it was such a lovely film about the story behind Mary Poppins. I honestly thought it was amazing and really can't wait for it to be out on DVD.

After that we just grabbed a GBK, yum and again had a walk around the shops with all the pretty lights before we both headed home. It was a super lovely two days and pretty cheap as well so well worth going :).

Oh and we also had these yummy yummy Christmas drinks. They were caramel hot chocolates with gingerbread and whipped cream, mmmmmmm.

University room, year two

Hey sweets,

So following my post from last year I thought I would do another post on my university bedroom. As I'm in my second year now, I've moved out of halls and into a pretty small and student type house. I've got quite a small room compared to my room at home however I do think it's pretty cute and cosy and I do always love decorating my room when I move in, so take a look!

We picked our rooms out of a hat so that it was fair and I was lucky and got a room on the second floor. I like it because the sun shines through which is pretty nice in the morning.

I always like my room to look really homely and cosy, especially as I spend a lot of my time in here doing work and things. I also love the vintage, shabby chic look.

I've taken a lot of things from my room last year, and as you can see from my pictures my taste is very flowery, girly and Cath Kidston like.

I've got some floral bunting from Acessorize which lines the top of my wall and gives my room a bit of colour. I'm quite lucky that all of my furniture in the room was already white, so it all goes really nicely together.
My bedding is from Ikea and was pretty cheap, again I think it just adds to my room and makes it look all cosy, similarly I have a flowery throw/blanket on the end of my bed which was from Tesco. It's pretty amazing where you can find all sorts of nice items for you room.

I've left my chest of drawers at the end of my bed just to have my candles on as it looks really sweet at night when its dark. One thing I love about being in a house is that I can actually burn candles. I just got some little vanilla tealights from ikea and found these little candle holders in a shop called Tiger which is kind of a much smaller version of Ikea, it is fab.

I've then just added a few photo frames, and my Urban Outfitters light up bunny, which all of my friends seem to hate but I love. I also have that metal looking bulldog ornament, it's actually a money box, but I just think it looks cool sat on the side there.

This has to be one of my fave things in my room. It's a vintage Mary Poppins vinyl which was passed down to me from my great great Aunty who is 98. Crazy, when I got it I just had to frame it because I think it looks super cute and I am a massive Disney fan.

I also have another vintage style bed sheet. This one I got from BHS, again I was really surprised at how nice the bedding sets were in there. I also got one of my cushions there, its a really sweet old style postcard with a bow and some birds on. My other cushions are from last year, so are mentioned in my previous post, and then of course I have Mike Wazoski.

I also got this really cheap photo frame in Tiger, it was only £5 which I thought was such a bargain.

And then my laptop sticker and case I got on Ebay, and they just add to my girly room style.

The far corner of my room I'm not actually that much of a fan. It gets really crowded as I do struggle a bit for storage space which is annoying so it is often very very messy over there.

I've put up a little pin board on the wall which I have just stuck on some postacards, pictures, cards and letters and any memories that make me smile. I love my fairy lights, in fact my room needs more, it just makes a room feel so much more warm and cosy. Literally every night I stick my lights and candles on and get into bed and feel mega snug.

My desk also gets kind of cluttered around with all my work and books and such, but I managed to find a picture where it is quite tidy.

I haven't commented too much about where everthing is from etc, because a lot of it features in my previous post so go check that out.

If you have any questions please feel free to comment. Thanks for checking out my room, I hope you like it.

Much love,

Alice May

The Clothes Show Live

Hey hey hey,

So this is just a pretty quick post. Just want to get back into the swing of blogging and such.

Anyway, last Friday I went to the clothes show live, in Birmingham. I'd never been before but always wanted to go, so when I found out the Cardiff Fashion Society were going I was of course mega keen to get in on it.

Basically, it's in a big building with loads of halls which is full with stalls of make up, beauty and fashion items. Literally, there is sooo much there it just goes on and on. As I hadn't been before I didn't really know what to expect but it was amazing.

As you can see I chose to wear a vintage style dress, with a vintage style cardigan and think tights, me and the girls I went with also had a cheeky picture in the photobooth when we arrived!

First thing I picked up was some make up from a few make up stalls, basically alot of them you pay a set price and get a lot more than you pay for.
So for all of this Barry M make up, I paid £10 which is such a cheaper for all of the amount you get. I absolutely love Barry M nail varnish, they have so many lovely colours and nail varnish is one of my many faveourites.
I then went over to Models Own and again got all of this for only £10. This was amazing as you were also able to chose three nail colours yourself, I opted for a green glittery colour (pretty festive) and then a pinky glitter which again was nice and Christmas/new year like. I also chose a black nail art pen as I love experimenting with different patterns and such on my nails and I manganed to loose my other one.

I also spent £5 on a Rimmel set, which came with a mascara, fake tan, nail varnish and a foundation sample, again which would at least be worth about £20 on it's own. So lots of bargains there.

I also got a cute little t-shirt with elephants on, it was only £18, it's pretty loose fitting but I thought it would look nice with jeans and leggins maybe in the spring time as it's got lots of greens and lighter colours in.

Lastly, I was absolutely blown away by they catwalk at the clothes show itself. It was really well done and my pictures do not at all do it justice, it was just full of colours and such lovely girls. If only I could be a model.

Anyway, this is a bit of a simple and rushed post but I hope you enjoyed it. I'm really excited about starting to post more on here.

Much love,

Alice May
